Rule 25
Operation of petroleum work
: While conducting petroleum work, the contractor shall make the following arrangements:
(a) Establishing a safe zone around all devices, equipment and tools.
(b) Installation of fencing at a distance of at least fifty (50) meters from well drilling rings, generators and other structures.
(c) Arranging a safe storage area for all explosives, detonators and similar hazardous materials used in petroleum work.
(d) Not to cause loss of life, wealth or crops.
(e) Keeping a record of the workers working in each work area and sending a copy thereof to the department within fifteen (15) days from the date of commencement of work in such area.
(f) To keep the registration book of workers in the format prescribed by the department and to send the details of workers added or left every month to the department within the first week of the next month.
(g) In the course of petroleum work, if any worker is seriously injured while performing his duties, he will report to the department within seventy-two (72) hours.
(h) To keep medicines and equipment necessary for first aid in each work area and to maintain a healthy environment for workers.
(i) Arranging the necessary insurance as stipulated in the petroleum contract.
(j) Arranging safety and fire extinguishing equipment in each work area.
